Pamper With Homemade Body Products

Homemade body products are fun for kids to make and are just as luxurious as store-bought products for a MUCH lower price tag!

Check out some of these recipes using items you probably already have in your kitchen:

~Body scrubs (recipe from Keeper Cup) made from salt or sugar, oils, and herbs (you could even grind up your favorite B & B tea and add it in!)
~Super nourishing and luxurious body butter (recipe from Living the Nourished Life) using nothing more than coconut oil and optional essential oils!
~Belly butter for the Mom-to-Be (recipe from Naturally Mindful) with 4 ingredients you can find at the health food store

Pamper With Food

Here are some yummy breakfast-in-bed recipe ideas for Mother’s Day

~Waffles with fresh berries and a bit of homemade unsweetened whipped cream
~Poached eggs over asparagus with hollandaise sauce
~Fruit salad and bacon or sausage
~Fresh from the oven banana bread with a fried egg

Pamper With Service

Mamas work HARD and would love a helping hand- here are a few ideas.  (Mamas- I know so many of us struggle with asking for help… maybe Mother’s Day is a good day for us to give a gift to ourselves and start asking!)

~Do all the dishes after Mom has gone to bed and surprise her
~Vaccum
~Clean the bathroom
~Hire a tween or teenager who is a friend of the family or neighborhood kid to come be a Mother’s Helper for a few hours each week.  Mama will love having the extra help and the helper will love learning from the Mama and getting to be around the kiddos!
~Give Mom a massage, back rub or foot rub!
~Draw Mom a bath and a hot cup of tea
~Help a pregnant Mama paint her toenails

Pamper With Words

We all know how much our Moms mean to us but how often do we tell her?  Here are some ideas to put it into words!

~Make a video telling Mom how much you appreciate her
~Take 365 strips of paper and fill them with things you love about Mom, her qualities you admire, things she has taught you, etc.  Then she’ll have one for every day until next Mother’s Day!
~Hide sticky notes around the house thanking Mom for all she does

Pamper With Time

Let’s face it- Mom’s are BUSY!  They might be with their family a lot but they’re often so busy taking care of kids and the home that they don’t get much quality time to actually be present with them.

~Take the whole family to a park and enjoy a picnic together
~Get a night in a motel for the family and enjoy a stay-cation to reconnect
~Help Mom complete some of the smaller tasks around the home so she can enjoy more family time
~Set up a one-on-one date for Mom and each member of the family

Pamper With Gifts

We choose to put this one last to help you think outside the box a little bit!  Here are some gift suggestions to help Mama feel Pampered

~Her favorite tea.  No matter what stage of life Mom is in we have a tea that will help her feel like a queen.  http://www.birdsandbeesteas.com/
~A potted plant or herbs will be a gift that keeps on giving
~Give her a massage, reflexology session,  essential oils, herbal body care product or consultation with a nutritionist or other practitioner.  For those of you local to Denver we have some great partnerships at http://www.birdsandbeesteas.com/b-and-b-network
~For breastfeeding Mama’s think about Lady of La Leche tea, nursing pads and cream (we love Bamboobies), and some of her favorite snacks
~For mamas with older kiddos consider capturing some candid photos of Mom and child.  Mamas rarely have pictures capturing day-to-day life and really cherish them!
~For pregnant Mamas consider some Peaceful Pregnancy tea and a beautiful new maternity top

No matter what you choose make sure to tell Mom thanks for all that she does!!
Happy Mother’s Day!

We believe in the credo that even though there will be different chapters in our life, we shouldn’t stop chasing our dreams. And since our clothes are an integral part of who we are, we shouldn’t need to change our dressing style when we become pregnant. And even though our needs are constantly changing, our clothes should take care of us by making us feel good and staying useful, not just during pregnancy but even beyond.
